The Canyons Trip - 2006

It's been a year so it's time for another trip. This time it will be Walt and John. Don, who we went to Alaska with last year, is heading back up to Alaska again this summer. Walt came up with the general idea of this trip about six months ago. The general idea is to head towards the canyons in Utah and Arizona - Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon.

When we got back from last year's trip to Alaska it was motorcycle realignment time for all of us. I sold my Harley and kept the BMW F650FS, Walt sold his BMW 1150GS and his Harley and bought a BMW 1150RT, Don sold his BMW R100GS and bought a Suzuki VStrom.

So, for this trip I'll be on the same bike as last year, my BMW F650GS, and Walt will be riding his BMW 1150RT. We'll be taking a lot less stuff with us since the trip is just over a week and much shorter then our month trip to Alaska. We've also decided to stay in motels so we can abandon the camping gear we carried to Alaska.

We will be taking a computer.... (a necessary tool!). We'll be starting out Sunday morning and are looking forward to it very much.
